Joe Mazzella

A former Managing Director/Head of Commodity Index Trading of Goldman Sachs, now a moderator at Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business, works with students in the Finance Scholars Program. After years in the industry, Joseph uses his experiences to prepare his students for the next steps in their career. ​ After Graduating from Fordham University, Joseph began his career at JP Morgan then AIG as an Officer of Commodities Trading. In the early 90’s, is when he moved to Goldman Sachs and, became involved in a dynamic trading environment. ​ With over 25 years of experience in trading commodities, Joe possesses the unique ability to synthesize information and analyze risk in a fraction of the time it takes others. That skill set, coupled with his fearless, but far from reckless trading style, made him, and makes him to this day, one of the most skilled traders in the world. ​ During his tenure at Goldman Sachs, his trading exploits were legendary. He teamed up and took a fee based / non-risk taking Goldman Sachs Commodity Index and turned it into multi hundred-million-dollar business.
